                                                                           MSgt Dexter Davis 

 

Master Sergeant Dexter Davis Sr. is the Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) at South Pointe High School since July 1st 2014. He was the ASI at Selma High School in Selma, Alabama from August 2012 until June 2014. MSgt Davis served as a firefighter at various Air Force bases throughout the world.  MSgt Davis' assignments included Chanute AFB Illinois, Howard AFB in Panama, North Auxillary Airfield SC, Little Rock AFB Arkansas, 4 years as an Air Force recruiter in Atlanta, Georgia, Eglin AFB Florida and Shaw AFB South Carolina. He retired as the assistant fire chief for prevention at Shaw AFB, SC after 24 years of duty on July 2012.  Sergeant Davis has served tours in Kuwait and Iraq as a firefighter. He also served as an advisor Iraq and Afghanistan. Sgt Davis is originally from Chicago, Illinois and has been married to Vanessa Davis (Johnson) since September 11, 1996.

Maj. Atley Gray

Major Atley M. Gray II is the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) at
South Pointe High School, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Major Gray served as an enlisted person (Physical Therapy Technician) for almost eight years and as an officer for 13 plus years, primarily as a Logistics Readiness Officer. Over his 21 plus years career, some of his assignments include serving as Sr. Mentor to the Afghan Logistics Corps for a year in Afghanistan, Operations Officer at Charleston AFB’s Aerial Port, SC and Executive Officer at Air Mobility Command’s Air Transportation Division.  Major Gray started his career in education here at South Pointe High School, 2014-2015 School Year. Major Gray has a Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration from Wayland Baptist University. He is Federally certified as an Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor in South Carolina. Major Gray has one adult daughter; Athena who is currently attending College for Nursing.
